We do it this way to ensure that all our clients benefit fully from the natural benefits of renewable and backup power solutions, keeping costs savings and long term viability at the forefront of our designs, our clients will always be happy with our services and products.
Our solutions are very cost effective and well thought out to provide our clients with long term client satisfaction.
With our tailor made solutions loadshedding will never have an effect on our clients ever again. Our solutions will keep your electronics and lights on for longer.
Our products are of the highest possible quality from reputable suppliers that we have been working with for decades. Our solutions are all environmentally safe. We are trying to do our part in the effort of a zero emmsion goal by 2050.
Rolling black-outs have made many people realise that maybe a normal UPS system is actually a temporary solution to what might well turn out to be a much longer-term problem! As a result many people turn to solar backup power solutions. We at Sun Busters understand the need for a long-term solution to the problem that threatens all South African's. Our solar backup power solutions can be used to mitigate the risk of load shedding or to completely go off the municipal power grid. We can assist in building a custom solution to fit our clients needs while guaranteeing the best possible service and cost savings.
Our solar solutions are made up of many components that we carefully select to satisfy each clients needs. Our systems often consist of a couple of high quality solar panels, along with a heavy duty inverter paired with excellent deep cycle batteries that will power every need of our clients. All our solar solutions are tailor made and are therefore subject to evaluation by our team of experts to determine the equipment necessary to keep your lights and other equipment going through loadshedding or indefinitely if you are looking to go fully off the municipal power grid.
Going fully off the grid carries with it a substantial financial investment but the cost savings going forward is the main goal of many of our clients. The added benefit is that loadshedding will never be a problem again
UPS Backup systems are installed to provide power backup to sensitive and critical loads due to the fact that UPS’s are able to filter and clean up dirty power and the Higher Quality Double-Conversion online units have “Zero Switchover” times and provide the highest form of protection to critical loads, in various fields of industry!
Inverter backup systems:These Inverters let mains through to the load on their output during normal operation and the moment that mains fails, it will switch to supplying the load with power created from the battery bank. The output is Modified or Squarewave which should not be used for critical applications and inductive loads like motors. The batteries can either be configured for 12 Volts, 24Volts or 48Volts, depending on the model of inverter. The inverter will then recharge the battery bank via the same cables that it used to draw power from to supply the load.
Applications :Camping – power lights and radios
Speedpoint Machine backup
Standard Alarm systems
Gate motor backup
LED TV Backup
Pre-Solar Backup Systems:Rolling black-outs have made many people realise that maybe a normal UPS system is actually a temporary solution to what might well turn out to be a much longer-term problem! As a result, many people are looking at one of our popular options which we have named:” The Pre-Solar UPS’ Basically this is the compilation of a backup system with a solar Inverter – charger, coupled to some solar deep, and high cycle, batteries. The smallest unit we recommend would be a 1200W 24V, Solar Inverter charger coupled with 2 x 200Ah or 100AH solar batteries. This will allow a nominal peak load of some 1.2Kw – thus enough for a TV/Decoder/ 5 x E-S lights, Laptop and even a fridge (although you don’t really need that yet, with power-outs only lasting 2-6 hours – at present!). However, a good feature of these Inverters-Chargers is their ability to sustain a 70% overload for up to 4 minutes thus facilitating starting up of motors, pumps and compressors (fridges, freezers, etc.). So, effectively, your 1200W inverter can handle 2000W for short periods without tripping out, or switching to Mains for assistance. The 2 x 180Ah batteries supplied will give you some 3200Wh of reserve power when discharged to 70% for UPS work – which equates to around 10+ hours without fridge, and some 6 hours with a fridge.Applications : Camping – power lights and radios Speedpoint Machines Standard Alarm systems

Types of backup UPS systems:
Square Wave Offline: These types of UPS’s are the entry level units that provide very short backup times and do not filter or clean up mains power, they allow AC to flow in passthrough straight to the load. When mains fails they kick in a few milliseconds later and provide 230V AC with a Square Wave output to the load from their internal battery.
Line Interactive Pure Sine Wave: These types of UPS’s interact with mains power and have a built in “Automatic Voltage Regulator” in order to to make sure that voltage supplied to the load is stable and within certain parameters. Should Voltage be to high or too low the UPS will switch to batteries until mains Voltage has stabalised. When mains fails they kick in a few milliseconds later and provide 230V AC with a Square Wave output to the load from their internal battery or external battery bank.
Double Conversion Online: These types of UPS’s take incoming mains power and create DC to charge the batteries. From the batteries AC is electronically created and then fed to the load. There is “Zero” changeover time when mains fails as the input and the output power of these types of UPS’s are completely isolated from each other. These are the most expensive of all the UPS’s and also offer the highest protection to all types of equipment wired to their output.
All of our Solar and Backup Power solutions are tailor made to meet each individual clients requirements.
